Time-Consuming:

This is a scarf that was designed for my mother. Though a scarf at the time seemed like a speedy present to create (scarves are every knitter's starter project, right?), I of course had to come up with a stitch pattern that demanded careful counting and planning. *Sigh*. So, be warned: though this is just a scarf, and therefore a repetition of the same pattern over and over, it is not necessarily one of those projects that require little focus while watching t.v. Truth be told, I was glad when I finished it. Still, I think it is quite lovely!For this project, I used 2 different colours of #4 medium-worsted wool and 5.5mm needles.
Abbreviations Used in Pattern:
Sts = stitches
K = knit (k4 = knit 4 stitches)
P = purl (p4 = purl 4 stitches)
YO = Yarn over: bring yarn around needle so that it will be knit/purled as a new stitch on the next row.
MC = Main colour.
CC = contrasting colour.
K2tog = knit 2 stitches together.
P2tog = purl 2 stitches together.
P2togtbl = purl 2 stitches together through the back of the loop.
S = Slip stitch (s1 = slip/pass one stitch onto the right-hand needle without knitting or purling it).
psso = pass slip stitch over (with the left-hand needle, take the previously slipped stitch off the right needle and pull it over the stitch knit after it was passed, as though it were being cast off).
